SckoolChess promotes Activity Based learning Curriculum “ABC” as an indispensable part of Chess curriculum for students in the age group of 5-10 years. Year 5-10 age group students are the fast learners and they can retain the learning and concepts with practice. As students join the session, main emphasis is given on the practical aspect of Chess game.

Chess exercises are developed considering the learning level e.g.

  • Beginner level 1, Beginner level 2
  • Intermediate Level, Advance Level

This given a clear idea to the SckoolChess Coach about the student level and accordingly students get the required syllabus in the class. Once the concept is explained in detail, SckoolChess coaches don’t move to a new concept.

Now students get the change to practice the same concept in the presence of Chess coach. To make Chess game interesting, SckoolChess students in a group gets a chance to solve easy and complex position. This fosters: team work, confidence booster, competitive sense, etc. At the same time SckoolChess coach also gets an idea about the student progress in the class.

The challenge majority of Chess student parents faces that even after completing the course their child is unable to demonstrate progress on the Chessboard. The fact remains that chess Institute or any chess coach already delivers the required syllabus to the student.

However, the true reality lies in the concept of ABC (Activity Based learning Curriculum). Wherein, if this methodology is not adopted then the student despite going through the session is not able to spot the patterns or positions in the actual game play. Example of common beginner level 1 mistakes:

  •  Touch and move, Illegal move
  •  Hanging pieces, Simple checkmate ignored
  •  En Passant, Castling issues
  •  Wrong piece capture, material loss
